SYLVA would whole heartedly support this. However, another of our initiatives would be better placed to achieve this. Please take a look at www.myForest.org.uk. The myForest service is aiming to support woodland owners in managing and marketing their woodlands, and in linking the woodchain across Britain. The service has been in development for some 18 months without any serious promotion, and the businesses signed up to date have been by quiet word of mouth. We intend to start promoting myForest from April this year. If you want to continue discussions with SYLVA direct, and discuss setting up a forum, feel free to email admin@myforest.org.uk.

There is a movement started by British Woodworking magazine to promote the use of British timber. Could your site be a forum for information on suppliers small and large?
